Flat-pack is fine until it isn't. A wardrobe that takes me ninety minutes can eat an entire weekend, and the instructions never mention that your walls aren't straight.

I assemble anything that arrives in a box — beds, wardrobes, desks, kitchen units, garden furniture — and I fix anything tall securely to the wall, which is the step most people skip.
